Ted Sarand_A_s

Even though he is of Greek extraction, and Greek names commonly end in "is,"
he spells his name Sarand_A_s. The only vowel that appears in the name is
the letter A--and there are three of them. Every recent posting about Ted
that I've read here has misspelled his name.

For what it's worth (damned little, since I'm not a sports fan), although I
enjoy Ted's merciless put-downs of dumb calls and callers, I find his
sanctimonious tone and his relentless search for the dark cloud around every
silver lining to be just a bit much. I realize that sports is a business, a
_big_ business, but it's still supposed to be about fun--at least for the
fans. Whenever I listen to Sarandas, he seems to take his subjects so
seriously that I wind up asking myself whether the guy can possibly be for
real.
