Re: The Bruins and AM 1510

Don't you think it's a bit of an overstatement to say
that 1510 bankrupted Mariner? Wouldn't "contributed to
the company's bankruptcy" be more accurate?

Also, within the last few weeks, the name of the owner
of 1510, 620 in Newark, and 1540 in LA changed for a
second time. I saw the item in the daily FCC actions.
The first change was from One on One to Vulcan. More
recently, there was a change from Vulcan to Rose City
Broadcasting or Rose City Communications or some such.
Portland OR is known as the Rose City and I presume the
company is the owner of Paul Allen's two original
stations, KXL and (if I'm correct) KXL-FM.

As for 1510, I recently heard that the monthly rent on
the TX site has increased from $15k, which is what
Communicom was paying, to either $20k or $25k. $25k just
might exceed 1510's monthly GROSS billings. At least if
Allen is so moved, his O&Os may get the network
programming for free. But someone has to pay the staff,
such as it is, and pay the rent on the office space.
