Re: W69AQ W46CS is history...



Channel 69 (W69AQ) was on the air in the Greater
Springfield area from 1977 until around 1982.  For
more info about this lamented station, there is an new
exhibit on my http://RadioDXer.com page.  Follow icons
and you are there.  More technical stuff about W69AQ
(later W46CS) can be found on The Boston Radio
Archives.  W69AQ was operated by Springfield
Television Corporation (WWLP/WRLP) and was licensed by
a Mrs. Downey of Agawam, MA.  It was considered to be
the FIRST LPTV in existence (before LPTV was
"invented"!)
