MPR's changes were made primarily due to ratings and contributions.  News
and public affairs gets higher ratings and more contributions than the shows
that were dropped.  They made a business decision.  It is debateable whether
the changes fit their mission and they certainly could have handled the
changes better, but my guess is that the people that are screaming are a
vocal minority.
