Re: Weather cancellations
As usual, I must disagree with my friend Chuck. ;-)
If I was an advertiser, I would like the stations to continue running the
cancellation crawl because the crawl will encourage people to keep watching
instead of changing the channel in search of cancellations. Looking for a
specific cancellations forces viewers to concentrate on the screen, possibly
increasing the effectiveness of the ad.
I've noticed some of the Portland stations (WCSH?) has started running
cancellations through the commercials. I think it's a smart move for the
station and the advertisers.
