Maine Public Radio meeting

The Board of Trustees of the Maine Public Broadcasting Corporation met
in Bangor this afternoon and apparently they had a few more members of
the public present than usual. A friend who heard Maine Things
Considered this evening says they had a report on the meeting, including
comments from disgruntled listeners. Some numbers in the report: Maine
Public Radio has received about 1500 complaints about its recent
programming changes and 2 percent of its members have said they are or
plan to be cancelling their memberships.

Said friend also reports he heard longtime announcer Victor Hathaway
saying goodbye on air last Friday afternoon. He hasn't had a lot to do
since the afternoon block of locally programmed classical music was
replaced by network talk shows.
