Don't forget he has a guaranteed $7-million-a-year
contract for the foreseeable future. Mel may want to
buy him out one of these days, but the folksy
phrasemonger will still make out OK. Incidentally,
last night, the CBS Evening Gnus included THREE per
inquiries: Xmas Muzak (still!); a Yanni collection;
and a set of Shirley Temple movies on videotapes.
