RE: Mobile Receiver - Sony or Alpine

My previous message should have read "Sensitivity and Selectivity" of both
Am and Fm Bands. The missing feature was AM-Stereo. And it has a digital
"S" meter. Really, a nice unit.

I have had the Alpine AM/FM/Cassette w/CD 6-pack changer. I bought it
around 1992 after checking many models. I am extremely fussy with
Sensitivity and Sensitivity. And by far, this unit and a Kenwood at the
time, blew away all the rest. This has a nice "S unit" too.

My brother's Alpine was at least ten years old, so it may not
reflect what they're making now. Without comparing them, I guess I'm just
saying I think a Sony like the two I've had over the past ten years is a
good bet to have good AM. No matter what you have, if your car is a few
years old, it also pays to clean up the connection between the antenna and
the car or even get a new antenna after awhile.
