last things first: would one of those questions involve the oft-pondered
perpertrator of inserting the "bomp" in the "bomp bomp bomp bomp bomp"?
<grinning, Dan...>

secondly: and you thought Dan Cole was brave in expressing his "outing"
thoughts against the "corporate masters"?

i, for one, thought it was a cute promotion. it made for an easier
transition from one syndicated show to another. it raised awareness that
there is some sort of programming after 6pm, that the show that was there was
obviously worth "replacing", and it gave the station a chance to fully call
attention to the "new kid" on the air. throwing Rush & Laura into the mix
made for some hand-wringing by those listeners who may not have been in on
the "joke", and to be honest, imo, if they bought the ruse, then they deserve
it. what lucid adult in today's world honestly believes their vote makes a
difference? especially when it comes to radio or television programming.
usually, by the age of 12, most of these listeners figure it out when, after
they voted for "Stairway to Heaven" for the "Top Eight at 8" on the local chr
station and, even though they called in twenty-four times, the top songs are
still by Nsync and Britney, et al.
this thought process in which Dan B felt that there were far too many
listeners who didn't get the "inside baseball stuff" leads only to further
perpetuate the myth that Maine is full of backwoods hicks. it just ain't
neccessarily, so, Dan.
