This reminds me of the time WLOB (AM 1310) lost an
announcer and conducted "auditions" on-air for 
prospective replacements.  Apparently they had already
selected the candidate, but he was unavailable for
a few weeks, so they let 3 ringers and then the "real"
candidate audition each weekend.  The audience was 
asked to call in and vote.  One of the ringers was
JJ Jeffrey who happened to be working at WRKO at 
the time.  They had to fake the voting results - 
cuz JJ won by a landslide.

Of course, faking was easy for them - at another 
time, they held a HI-LO jackpot contest and the 
jocks were told not to let anyone win for at 
least a week.
