just spoke with Dean this morning (we go waaaaaay back to January of '80 when
970 am was still WCSH...). his last day for Saga is 22 September with his
first day at WHOM sked for Monday, 25 Sept. he's only been on a handshake
agreement with Saga (as they only require those they deem "valuable" to sign
on the line...), so he will work out his notice then, as is his nature, make
a graceful segue to 94.9.
Dean is more than a survivor. not a mean bone in his body. one of the
true gentlemen in radio. yeah, he has been and continues to be a role
model-slash-mentor-slash-big brother to me. (heck, the fabulous debbie and i
were married on Dean and Sharon's anniversary, 24 July, and the two of them
did grace us with their presence at the wedding).
as i told him this morning, the hard part will be learning new call
letters. he's only used WYNZ since Bud Stiker changed the call letters of
WCSH in January of 1981.
