WBOQ's "Daybreak"

WBOQ has started a morning drive show called
"Daybreak"; I caught part of it this morning.
It's hosted by Dana Hersey, formerly "the voice of
TV 38" (and host of "The Movie Loft") and a current
"voice" of WRKO (and announcer during its' "Howie Carr
Show"). He's not the only "voice" heard on 'RKO
promos and liners; I think Bill Smith, formerly of
WBOS, is the other.

According to an ad placed in the Salem Evening News,
the show has "Local, Regional, and National News,
Traffic on the Nines, Sports, Local
Talk...Lifestyle..." and there's a picture of Dana
with fellow hosts Kendall Buhl and J.P. Lewis. At the
bottom of the ad: "WBACH 104. 9 FM--Local News,
Local Talk, Arts and Entertainment...and all that
Jazz!"

Hmm, thought they were a classical station :)

Anyway, the show isn't bad; traffic reports always
mention North Shore conditions along with metro
Boston; Dana sounds comfortable on the air, and so on.
Jazzy music is used as a bed at times, such as during
Dana's talkover just before the headlines.

(I think Dana still lives in Wenham, a very short
distance from WBOQ's Beverly studios-- unless he's
doing the show from his home studio, something he
has done with WRKO-- as he does promos and liners for
them right from his home studio.)
