QUILL RETIRES
John Quill, long time WWLP-TV meteorologist offically announced his
retirement from the station. Quill joined WWLP back when the station
signed on March 17, 1953. He's been suffering from failing health as of
recent, including kidney problems and cancer. With the move to Chicopee
and news casts becoming more demanding, he decided to officially
retire. Quill will be turning 84 in August. It was a great pleasure of
mine to be able to work with him here at WWLP.
