As far as I know, by volume and by weight, nearly all of 
the material in a CD is polycarbonate plastic. What 
aluminum there is is a thin film sputtered onto the 
plastic. The CD wouldn't work without the reflective 
metal layer, but you don't need much metal to make the 
CD work.
