Re: Vikings upset Karmazin

A different perspective on Webcasting:

The webcasting of a Las Vegas murder trial
is a hit on the Internet.

TV station KVBC (Las Vegas) began webcasting
a Las Vegas murder trial on April 19, without
newscasters or legal analysts to filter the
information.

According to the station, "visits to its Web
site were up 20 percent on the first day of
the webcast."

The station decided to do this, because "there is
so much local interest in the story, and the
they can serve that interest without going to
expense of pre-empting its regular daily
programming."

They are, however, providing conventional updates
on the trial in their nightly newscasts.
