Re: 89.3 pirate, WMEX trivia show
I remember hearing the same trivia show on WRCA
(1330); when I tuned in to WMEX this Sunday, the
trivia hosts said "this show has been on 3 other
stations, including the original WMEX" (which was at
1510). So I guess WEEI was the other one!
The only other long-running trivia show on the Boston
dial was Morgan White, Jr's "Talking Trivia" which had
been on WKOX, WMRE, WHDH (I think) and maybe one
other station. Morgan turns up on David Brudnoy's
show once in awhile and does an occasional WBZ fill
in.
He has no regular radio gig but does live trivia shows
at places like the Coolidge Corner Clubhouse in
Brookline.
(And now that I think of it, another radio trivia
expert is Mel Simons, who had been heard once per week
on Bob Raleigh's WBZ show. Not sure if Mel's on the
air these days.)
