It's on the air as I write this. Until the fall of 1993 Morning Pro
Musica with Robert J. Lurtsema was heard 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to
noon. Mr. Lurtsema felt it was important to be in the studio every day
to establish continuity. This schedule also meant he had a lot of
vacation time built up when he felt the need to leave the microphone for
trips to India and Germany.

In 1993 RJL announced the show would move to a Saturday/Sunday schedule,
and that continues to this day. Classical Morning with Doug Briscoe
took over the weekday morning slot on WGBH and Maine Public Radio (WFCR
and stations in Vermont and Connecticut had dropped the morning show
from Boston in favor of local programming in 1989; Maine followed in
1995).

These days a number of stations offer glimpses of what's going on in the
studio with their web site studio cams (WBCN and WFNX have this feature,
although I've never seen it working), but RJL had 'em all beat with a
simulcast on WGBX-TV back in 1990.
