Re: WNTN (was WPTR)

Six towers would be right. Three for days, four for nights with one shared.
The arrangement is most likely sort of a V with the two in-line arrays
converging on the south tower, which, I think, is the one that's shared
between the day and night arrays. The azimuths of the two lines of towers
are fairly close. The four-tower night array is at 325 degrees with towers
spaced 80 degrees apart and the three-tower day array is at 352 degrees with
the towers spaced 185 degrees apart and the northernmost tower slightly
shorter than the other five towers. The length of the line of towers in the
day array is 370 degrees, whereas the length of the line of towers in the
night array is 240 degrees.

The problem is that the 1550 site is NORTH--not west--of Hartford.

The very consipcuous DA west of Hartford is 910, but it has been there since
the late 40s or early 50s. That has five towers. The four in-line are used
at night. The one that's not in line along with one of the four that are
used to constitute the day array, but 910 has been ND days for ages; they
just never demolished the unused tower. Or maybe, like WQEW, they made it
into an auxiliary.
