WPTR Signal Problems
I can tell you in 4-letters what a major problem with WPTR's signal. CHIN.
Chin is supposed to protect WPTR. But with the way 1540 has been sounding
like, CHIN is not as cafeful about protecting WPTR as the should. If CHIN
were to carefully monitor their pattern more closely, you should NOT hear
CHIN as loud as you hear them, right now.
Also WPTR's ground system is in need of some cleaning up. It was a major
factor for the previous owners of WPTR that they sold 1540 at such a low
price to Crawford. I must say, Crawford shows a lot of class in bringing
back the "Friend to the Northeast", WPTR. I now have a pre-set in my cars
where WQEW used to be. Good to have WPTR back where it belongs.
