The equal time rule may have been in effect in 1980;
I know a certain presidential candidate had been an
actor in various TV shows and movies (yeah, HIM)
so a TV station that ran one of those might have to
give equal time to another candidate as a result (if
they ask). In fact, Ch. 56 had a marathon of Ronald
Reagan movies starting after the polls closed on
Election Night. What did they call it?
"Ron 'Till Dawn".
