Applications for 89.3 and 91.1 southeastern Mass.

I was curious about the info submitted in the past
few days concerning a public FM on Nantucket at 91.1.
I assumed that this was in reaction to the application
by UMass N. Dartmouth to move from 91.1 to 89.3.
There has been no movement in this regard for YEARS.
Recently a group called Granite State (?) public
broadcasting entered an application for 89.3 in that
area! Wha? Do any of the visitors to NERW who
also live in that area know what's going on? How
can WGBH-FM put on a station on 91.1 while
WSMU is using that frequency? Is the 89.3 application
a blocking action by NH Public Radio? And isn't
WBUR-FM waiting for this change to take place so
they can reduce the directionality of the Mother
Ship? This inquiring mind wants to know.
