A few years back, I was involved with WESX's high school football scoreboard 
show, which Al hosted at the time. I was a young kid just trying to get on 
the air and Al was always helpful. He referred to me as "Steve" off the air 
all the time, but somehow remembered my name when the mic was hot.

A class act. Though I haven't listened to him in the AM much recently, he'll 
be missed.
