Re: NorthEast Radio Watch 11/14: Back from Seattle, and Drying Out!

Scott: Isn't the COL for KIXI Mercer Island, rather than Bellevue as
reported? Also, KVI tower_S_? I thought that KVI (along with KMJ in
Fresno and WOW in Omaha) was the rarest of rara avis in US AM radio--an
ex-Class IIIA, at a low-on-the-dial frequency, operating with 5 kW ND-U, and
posessing a three-letter call. Moreover, KMJ (that is, Infinity) has applied
for and expects to receive a CP for 50 kW-U from a four tower array (840'
towers) east of Fresno.

Also, as for 1060 here, WKOX has been off on some nights and operating ND
with low power on some nights. "Kaimbridge" has reported to the list that he
heard 1060 running a strong open carrier at 2:30 AM on a recent morning. I
believe that, last week, 1060 was running with its DA, albeit still as
J-Light 1060, and probably still with 500W, which could mean that the DA is
in but the high-power TX is not yet in place. Note also that, although 1060
is legally IDing as WMEX Natick and 650 is legally IDing as WJLT Ashland,
and DX News has carried word of the new calls for both stations, the FCC Web
site still does not recognize WMEX as the ID of any AM.

And as for calls that match the COL, what of KADA in Ada OK. Still on the
air? Still KADA?
