Yesterday's wire story mentions that the launch for
the new format is scheduled for mid-November. Berryhill,
who only had a 16-month stint at 'HDH, officially assumes
WMEX' GM duties on Nov.5th. The station is looking for a
new studio space in downtown Boston. (I presume they'll
launch from the current WJLT/WMEX facilities in
Metrowest if a new location is not secured by then.)
It would be safe to assume that the Boston's new talker will be tilting
to the left since both WRKO-AM and the newcomer WTKK-FM are to
the right of the spectrum. Perhaps something similar
to what's been going on in NYC for the past 2 1/2 years where
WEVD-AM tries to balance off against WOR-AM and WABC-AM.
