Calls And Such......

Does anyone know where I can find more information on
the meaning of call letters. (AKA WCVB,, Channel 5 Boston 
or WLVI, Roman Numeral 56).

I found quite a bit information on the Boston Radio Archives
but I wonder if anything was ever published or there is a
list somewhere that someone compiled. 

Just a curiosity.


also note that WZEC applied to move its transmitter
to just outside the Bennington town line.
