All Star Game (Off Topic)

The Red Sox had originally asked to host the All Star Game in
2001---which will be the franchise's 100th anniversary. Also, at the
time they made the request, it appeared possible that a new stadium
would be in place. Seattle had requested the 1999 game but it became
uncertain that their new stadium would be ready in time. MLB asked the
Red Sox to switch with Seattle because of the stadium situation there.
(The 2000 game belongs to the NL) The Red Sox agreed when it became
apparent that a new stadium in Boston wouldn't be ready by 2001.
Ironically, the Seattle stadium was finished on time and could have
accommodated the game.
