Bill Buchanan update

For those who keep track of the folks from the "good old days", former
Boston Globe historian and radio columnist (and before that, he wrote radio
columns for the old Boston Record... he also did a jazz show on several
Boston stations including WVDA and WBZ in the early 50s) Bill Buchanan
recently had surgery for prostate cancer.  He is expected to make a full
recovery, but for those who enjoyed his columns, you might want to drop him
a line, wish him well, and reminisce with him about early to mid- 50s radio
or the music from those days-- he hated rock, as most of the older
columnists back then did... he and his friends like Sherm Feller, Bill
Marlowe, and others would commiserate in print about how radio was going to
hell in a handbasket...   He is a wealth of information-- the people he
knew include some of the biggest names in pop and jazz... Bill Buchanan's
