Re: Boston Network Radio Affiliations: 1950's and 1960's.

For what it's worth, my first weekly music sheet from WCOP is dated July
16, 1956 (survey #3). All of mine are photocopies and the first
two-sided print I have indicating jocks is from 12/10/56 (survey #24):
John Scott 6:00AM
Jim Dixon 9:00AM
Bill Marlowe 10:00AM
John Scott 12:00N
Jim Dixon 1:00PM
Top Forty with Bill Marlowe 3:00PM
Tom Evans 6:00PM
Bill Clark 9:00PM
All Nite Serenade 1:00AM

The last music survey in *my* collection is dated 11/24/61, though there
could well have been many more.

Based on airchecks in my collection, it appears WCOP dropped Top 40 for
MOR on July 21, 1962.

As for news, the only WCOP airchecks I have with NBC Radio Net are
3/12/67 & 8/19/68; the 1967 tape was simulcast on WCOP FM.

Incidentally, the 1968 date is supposedly the first day of the fulltime
country format, though the 1967 was a weekend show--George Fennell
hosting "Countrywide Carnival," which may have been a weekly thing.
