Interesting tropospheric ducting this morning

Hello all.
I was driving home to Groveland, MA, this morning at about 1am and caught
quite an interesting opening on FM. On I95 at the Rt. 133 exit in
Georgetown, Oldies 103.3 was getting completely clobbered by the 103.3 in
Maine. I could not hear Needham at all for a half mile or so, then they came
in again. While driving home, I also heard WTOS 105.1 coming in under Lite
105, Fun 107 in RI coming in over WERZ, and heard that 3K station on the
cape at 103.9FM full quieting for a time once I was far enough away from
104.1. 92.9 was also getting quite a denting from somewhere (Probably Mt
Mansfield). I decided to listen to the Boston FM's to hear how things were
there. 98.5 was getting beaten up by somewhere, 104.5 had some competition,
and to my surprise, 104.1 had a touch of a signal from somewhere coming
underneath. 107.3 from Paxton had something for a short time. I could not
hear any solid programming underneath those Boston FM's but did hear the
weaker signals below them. Just 103.3 92.9, 98.5 and 102.5 had enough
competing signals to be annoying to the average folk.
While driving past WBMT 88.3 (which always seems off the air) I checked out
2 other signals there. Just about every frequency was occupied with
something. There was a very thin "fog" layer above the trees and no wind at
all! Quite a strong dome of high pressure for this time of year. It's like a
huge bubble with all these signals just bouncing around inside.
Interestingly enough, 94.9FM was solid with nothing coming in underneath
them at all!

Best Regards to all.
