Yes, they did go with Beatlemania special for
about 12 straight hours(6a-6pm). But this
was far from a music marathon : it was 90% interviews,
commentary, listener stories(which they recorded
on WABC's 800-line). And most importantly, W-A-Beatle-C
was a tied in to a contest/promotion which
was giving away a brand new Beetle(aka obscenity on
wheels).
