Re: WZLX - "I Don't Like Mondays"



I heard Carter Alan talk up the song before he played it.  He said something
about not having the "words" to explain the Littleton tragedy, so he would let
the music send the message for him.  I'm sure it was not a request, since most
stations don't take them nowadays.  My guess is that Alan, who I believe is
the music director, slid the song in.  Personally, I think the song is totally
appropriate--it actually parallels Littleton very closely, which is why it may
upset some.  The message is actually quite haunting and makes you think.
Another song some stations are playing a bit more in light of the tragedy is
"For What It's Worth" from Buffalo Springfield.
