Sure, just look at a WRKO Top 30 from 1970 (why, I happen to have one right
here!) What a strange mix of music. But of course, I didn't have 12 stations
preset on my car radio back then (since I was only eleven).

#1 War - what is it good for? - Edwin Starr
#2 Back Door - Creedence
#3 Aint no Mountain - Diana Ross
#4 25 or 6 to 4 - Chicago
#5 - Patches - Clarence Carter (that song was a joke among my friends)
#6 Cracklin Rosie - Neil Diamond
#7 Candida - Dawn
#8 Long Long Time - Linda Ronstadt
#9 Hand me Down World - The Guess Who ( wow, does anyone play that?)
#10 Snowbird - Anne murray
