Re: Star 93.7, dance-oriented...?



This is not a pure "Jammin Oldies" station.  It's more of a hybrid.
WTJM-New York usually doesn't venture much past the mid 80's, plus they
play more early 70's material than 93.7 is currently doing.  Of course,
TJM is also designed not to cannibalize co-owned WKTU and it's primary
target is WCBS-FM.  93.7 looks like their going after several
stations--the upper end demos of Kiss and WJMN, and the lower ends of
WODS and WROR.  Their playlist is extremely tight right now, and we'll
have to see how it finally shakes out. There have been some wierd segues
tonight on WEGQ--Cher "Believe" into "Lean On Me"-Bill Withers. Ouch!

BTW--Last song on the Eagle before the Prince marathon was "You Cant
Always Get What You Want" from the Stones.  It aired just before 10pm
Wednesday night.
