Today's(3/31) Lowell Sun had an article about WCCM's landing of the
Spinners' broadcast rights. The article indicated that WCCM will carry 65 of
the team's 80 scheduled games.11 Sunday games will not be carried due to
"program commitments"(I believe they run a lot of leased time shows on
Sundays). The article also indicated that WCCM will be setting up a studio
in Lowell as soon as possible and that they plan to have a presence at
several Lowell area events, most notably the Lowell Folk Festival(live
coverage????) Also mentioned in article that WCAP was interested in landing
the Spinners, but the sticking point was Spinners' management insisted that
Bob Ellis and Chaz Scoggins will be the announcers, while WCAP reportedly
did not want the Ellis/Scoggins team. That's when the Spinners and WCAP
broke off talks.

As I had posted previously,WCAP has Lowell Lock Monsters hockey, all
games. There would be many conflicts with U Mass Lowell hockey games,as both
teams play the same nights(U Mass Lowell games mostly Friday and Saturday
nights,Lock Monsters have many weekend games also).Possible solution would
be tape delay U Mass Lowell games airing after Lock Monsters games.
