There have been rumors of NBC buying CBS for over a year. I think the FCC
would approve it. Last summer all of the networks petitioned the FCC to remove
the ownership restrictions. What GE is looking for in any merger or
partnership is controlling interest, because if this does move forward they
will certainly keep their O&O stations and MSNBC and CNBC. 
Don't understand what Mel is really getting.
