So, last Friday, I heard a Kiss 108 contest winner respond thusly:
DJ-- Is this (female's name-- I forget, let's call her Michelle) Michelle?
Michelle-- yes... who's this?
DJ: This is Kiss 108 and you're a winner! You just won tickets to see
Alanis Morrissette.
Michele-- No sh***t! Is this a joke?
DJ: No, you're really a winner.
Fortunately, the d.j. (I think it was Kid David) tapes and then re-plays
contest calls, and we all know why... the bad word was bleeped out. But
not all stations even now delay such calls. Do any of you have any stories
of something bad or something unexpected that slipped out over the air?
Not an urban legend, like Big Brother or Uncle Don allegedly calling kids
little bastards (that is an urban legend-- it never happened)-- but
something that really happened to you, and what you did about it...?
