CBC On Strike

As of yesterday (Wed) the technicians for the Canadian Broadcasting Company
are on strike in all areas except Quebec and Moncton, NB.  Technical
functions are being handled by management personell.

The CBC produced service Newsworld International, which is usually a
version of Newsworld (domestic) edited for a US audience and usually
contains commercials aimed at us in the states, is instead broadcasting the
un-edited domestic Newsworld service, including the Canadian commercials.
Newsworld International is mainly available through DSS satellite services,
including DirecTV.
