WMTW may move news operation to Portland

Yesterday's Portland Press Herald had an interesting story about how WMTW-TV
is considering move their entire news operation to Portland.  Read the story

WMTW's main studio is in Auburn, though they do their early evening newscasts
with anchors in both Portland and Auburn.  The Press Herald story indicates
that WMTW management sees the move to Portland as a way to help end their
perennial third place standing in the Portland news ratings.  This theory
misses the point that their ratings have more to do with what they broadcast
than where they broadcast from.
