Re: news on the weekend re-visited

I feel as though when something of top urgency happens, radio/TV is forced,
(ugh!) to go back to it's imbedded roots and DO SOMETHING. Drop the facade
of being but a choice in the line in the cafeteria of "choices" (ack!) and
just deliver, for a change. Nothing seemed more foolish to me that walking
into my living room as the bombs fell last week to see TV Land and I Dream
of Jeannie (or whatever it was at the time). Quickly flipping to CNN, local
affills, etc., it was SO refreshing to be on the front lines. As for radio,
I reiterate that we reaffirm our respect for solid radio NETWORK
affiliations at times of crisis. Like a fire extinguisher of the air...you
hope that you never need it, but when you do, all of the barter makegoods
"cluttering the traffic" are well worth it. In radio, as well as in TV,
network affiliations are like an equilizer for all signals, large or small.

If someone is irked by over-coverage of breaking world and national events,
get a puppie.
