That sounds just like the stuff on Arnie's "Cruisin' 1961" album.

I think, as others said, it was just variations on a slogan. I think they
were still the "new" WMEX even in the early 70s.
I noticed, BTW, that WMEX 1150 never called itself the "new WMEX." They
did use some other WMEX slogans, such as "WMEX Good Guys" and "WMEX
Tunedex."
Seems to me that I heard the "new" WMEX as far back as 1957, even though I
usually listened to WCOP. I think that Arnie moved over to WMEX at least
as early as 1958.
