WUPI

Can anyone help me confirm or deny the existence of WUPI(FM?) in the
1940's or 50's? My now late grandfather claimed he was a partner in it.
Going through his things after his death, I find no mention of anything
resembling a radio station in his papers. Not being born until 1965,I am
too young to have heard it. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
