Exactly! As one Seattle listener, asked, "What's so special about Howie Carr?"
Well, without the local information....nothing!

What *is* special is his courage to blow the whistle on hack salaries; mob
relationships, and the ability to explain his version of how things work --or
don't--in this "Commonwealth." If one looks back on columns he wrote 8-10
years ago, it's a miracle he wasn't offed.

Topics like "what you hate about supermarkets" "icky neighbors" and other
generic chat just don't seem as compelling to me. Nor does his increasing use
of the word, "screw!"
