I grew up in southern New England, where WPTR indeed blasted through at
night. Once when the station was off the air, I received KXEL/waterloo.
Very softly, but clearly. WKBW/1520 gave Boston's WMEX/1510 a hard time -
even in downtown Boston!
CKLW/800 was strng, but PJB/Bonaire troubled the Big 8 sometimes. Here in
south Florida, the Cuban stations are a royal pain.
