They don't sound like much more than that to me either.  They DO have the
PAMS jingles, and reverb, and that kind of thing, but on the other hand,
they seem to be completely controlled by the sales department.  Their
remote broadcasts, which take up a good portion of the weekend
programming, are of unusually poor quality for even a small station. 
Terrible music quality (to my mind, playing records from a remote over a
3khz phone line is unacceptable on an FM station.)  The talk about the
sponsoring merchant is excessive (again, to my mind talking about the
merchant for seven minutes straight, then playing a jingle, reading a
weather forecast, and then talking about the merchant for another seven
minutes) is not listenable -- unless of course, you're the merchant!)
