Appropriate last songs

On March 4, 1994, at 5:00 p.m., WRVE (99.5 FM) in Schenectady, N.Y. changed
from oldies to quality rock (or adult rock).  The last songs the oldies
format played were "American Pie" by Don McLean and "Rock Around The Clock"
by Bill Haley and The Comets.  The first song the new quality rocker played
was "The River" by Bruce Springsteen.  As a quality rocker, WRVE is known as
"The River".
