The first song I ever heard by a popular artist during the sixties was Roy
Orbison's, "Oh, Pretty Woman" outside of a rock club on Revere Beach called
the Ebbtide while I was walking by when I was about ten. Heard it again,
pretty much with the same sound when he was the musical guest on SNL. The
stairwells at NBC made it sound very surreal, like the old do-wop groups.
Unforgettable!!
