As I recall, there were 2 reasons for "WAAA-FM Anywhere" versus "WAAA
Anywhere".  The obvious was WAAA was the AM sister.  The other was it was
simply the way the calls were assigned or applied for.  (WZOU Boston
'became' WZOU-FM Boston and I don't recall an AM unless it was out of area.)

That leads to a third, being the changing of the rules that a station's
calls on one band are free for use by another station on the other band.
