I was told that originally, WEEI 590 kHz _could_ have been 50 kW but Edison
Electric figured that 5 kW got the job done sufficiently.  (My source has
since passed away, so I can't clarify details - he worked at WEEI as a staff
jingle singer.)  Any history similar to that?
