And don't forget Kitty on Gunsmoke--the _original_ Gunsmoke--the radio
version with William Conrad. Kitty was an, umm, saloon owner. As I recall,
the Kitty character did, in fact, own a saloon, but calling her a saloon
owner was still a euphemism. I wish that people hadn't stopped using such
euphemisms; I think they made the world appear a little bit more civilized
back then.
