The significance of the "old" KTU was that it was the one that brought down
the great 77-WABC.   Others tried (first was WOR-FM 1966) and failed, but 92.3
WKTU socked NYC with disco music so well, it becamse #1 in just 1 rating
period.   Shortly after, WABC helplessly tried to play mostly disco music,
timing beats-per-minute to mix songs.  Didn't quite sound right mixed in with
"Laughter In The Rain" by Neil Sedaka.
77-WABC never recovered and the best way out was TALK.
